Scandalous Love, ch 5-7

All I can say is, Nic's still bent on revenge against Fabio and he was invited to her house for dinner, only Nic doesn't know it till the last minute, so when she finds out, she decides to toy with his head (after all, isn't that what women do most of the time when they're in pursuit of someone?), wearing a very non-demure dress and looking her best - which in this case means REALLY provocative.

Fabio and Nic exchange really hurtful words towards each other.  Okay, well, not so much hurtful, but they're messing with each other, and in front of Nicole's parents, no less!  It's pretty damn obvious that they've got something going on between them, and her parents don't like it.  They also know that Fabio's engaged to Lady Elizabeth, and Nic's dad is protective of his daughter all of a sudden because well, Fabio's a man, and when men are in semi-pursuit of a woman, things happen.  You know how it is.

They end up making out in the library after dinner, much to Nicole's surprise.

The day after, Nicole sets out to Fabio's place, only to find that he moved to London directly after he returned from dinner at Nic's place.  Her parents don't know this.  They still assume he's in their countryside, or wherever the hell it is they actually live.  So Nic decides to move to London and experience a ball or two, while her parents approve of this supposed separation from Fabio.  And that's all I'm gonna give for the synopsis right now.

Let's see, considering Nicole's parents AND older brother can tell that there's something going on between Niccy and Fabby, this spells danger and a lot of scandal (after all, it wouldn't be called Scandalous Love, now would it?) for the two.  I'm predicting that things in London Society are going to get a little more gossipy as they always do.  The description of Fabio's character, Hadrian, is a strong guy, and muscly, as most romance novel guys from the Regency era.  This guy is just damn forceful, and he (or his boner) isn't gonna lie about his desire for Nicole.  What he's scared of is that she's probably the first woman he's actually falling for, despite his history of mistresses and having a betrothal to Lady Elizabeth whatsherface.

I just wanna know what happens next, don't you?  But I won't lie, this book definitely has me going now xD
